The Oreneta Kammerensemble was formed in 2023 from an already existing string quartet. The four young musicians met at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where in 2019 they began studying chamber music in the class of Prof. Harald Schoneweg alongside their individual degree programs.
The ensemble has already performed in several European countries, captivating audiences in Germany, Belgium, and France.
The name “Oreneta” comes from Catalan and means “swallow,” a species of songbird. Swallows are found all over the world, travel across many countries, and possess exceptionally sensitive hearing as well as a wide vocal range that distinguishes them from other bird species. In both a literal and metaphorical sense, the ensemble knows no boundaries.
