Malinconia
The CD "Malinconia", recorded in 2018 with pianist George Tyriard and realised thanks to vzw Young Belgian Talent, received internationally favourable reviews and was selected as "Klara's choice".
The Dutch magazine Luister reviewed: "Being in and above the notes and at the same time being able to take distance at the right moment is not given to all young musicians. They have vision. Depth, virtuosity and guts are all combined here. All the works are explored and played in a way that immediately involves the listener."
For Malincoina we have chosen compositions that were close to our hearts at the time of the recording, compositions from Russian and Belgian composers of the 20th and 21 th century.
The violin solo Sonata in a, op 27/2 of Eugène Ysaÿe with as second part Malinconia, is followed by the piano solo Chaconne of Sofia Gubaidulina
We are very grateful to premier here "Wildlands", piece for violin and piano that the Belgian composer Ruben De Gheselle, known for his intimate and hypnotic scores, wrote especially for this occasion.
The CD concludes with its centerpiece, the sonata in f minor for violin and piano from the Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev.
